“Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.” -1 Kings 18:37

Intercession is defined as “An interposing or pleading on behalf of another person”, and “A prayer to God on behalf of another.” What is Celebrity Prayer Network? It’s a website aimed at invoking undying prayer and intercession on behalf of celebrities. The reality is this- there is a people untouched by God that need Him. There is also a people who are following God that need support. That’s what we’re here for. We’re here to minister to them through prayer.

Why do we pray? What’s the point of praying for celbrities? It’s easy to think that it’s of no use. They’ll never really find God, or they don’t need my prayers, they’re already following God. The Bible tells us something different. The Bible tells us to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:19). God commissioned us to bring Him to the natioins. One way to do that is through prayer.  We also see that it’s important to pray for our fellow believer. Paul gives us a good example in Ephesians 1:15-19. Prayer helps build and encourage our fellow believers.

Most importantly we pray so that God may be released to save a people that are lost. It should be our hope that the unsaved celebrities would encounter someone who truly loves them- Jesus Christ- and be changed forever. It’s definitely possible. The Bible says in Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” It’s telling us that if we pray for the salvation of celebrities, and we believe that God will do it, then we will begin to see celebrities receiving salvation. So instead of judging them, we’re praying for them. We know that after one touch from God they’ll be changed forever.

So this is a call. This is a call to all Christians of all denominations. This is a call to all churches, to all Pastors, to all men, women, and children. This is a call to the Body of Christ. Rise up! Pray for celebrities and believe, so that God may do the miraculous by bringing savation and restoration to them.  We challenge you incorporate prayer for celebrities in your daily devotions. We challenge Pastors to rally their churches to corporately lift up celebrities on a regular basis. It’s time to show them that we really love them, and that God really loves them. Let’s stand up as a nation, as a Body of Christ, and lift them up, so that they may be saved by the same great God who saved us and encouraged by the same amazing God that encourages us.

James 5:16 and 20 states “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective…” and“…Remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” Let’s pray for celebrities, that they may find salvation, love and grace in Jesus Christ.
